Meet the owner

Akelle Richmond runs the fleet hands-on.

Lansing Car Rentals is owned and operated by Akelle Richmond. Day to day, that means pricing, bookings, renter communication, vehicle prep and maintenance coordination — the same operation that now manages vehicles for partners.

Partner With Us

Put capital or vehicles to work in a managed rental fleet.

You own the vehicles. We run them: listing, pricing, bookings, renter screening, cleaning, logistics and maintenance coordination. Revenue is split 50/50 after Turo and platform fees, and you’re paid on the first of every month with a statement.

Option 1

Cash Contribution

$100,000 minimum

You provide the funds. We source and acquire vehicles for you through our vehicle connections — including opportunities below Kelley Blue Book value when they come up. The vehicles are titled to you.

Option 2

Vehicle Drop-Off

10 vehicles minimum

You supply titled vehicles and deliver them to our Lansing facility. We onboard them into the fleet and manage them from there. You keep the title.

How the economics work

  • 50/50 split of Revenue after Turo/platform fees, payment processing, refunds and chargebacks.
  • Shared Revenue includes rental income, smoking claims, fuel reimbursements, mileage overages and other vehicle-generated income.
  • Damage-claim proceeds go to you, outside the 50/50 split, subject to the agreement’s lien and loss terms.
  • We cover the insurance/protection arrangement described in the agreement.
  • You pay maintenance and repairs at cost, deducted from your monthly payout. We notify you before any single non-routine repair over $1,000 unless it’s urgent for safety.
  • An optional reserve of up to 20% of Revenue is held only if you authorize it. Reserve funds stay yours.
  • No fixed term: the agreement continues until ended under its terms. Vehicle return takes 30 days’ notice, or up to 90 days if we sell the vehicles for you.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Renting

How do I book a vehicle?

Select Book With Us anywhere on this site. It opens our host page on Turo, where you choose a vehicle and dates and check out.

Where can I see prices and availability?

On Turo. Prices and open dates change often, so we keep them in one place instead of listing them here.

What do I need to rent?

Turo’s driver requirements, verification and protection options apply to every trip. Each listing shows its details before you book.

Who do I contact about a trip?

Message us through the Turo app, or call 269-406-0632.

Partnering

Who can apply?

Individuals and businesses who meet one of the minimums: a $100,000 Cash Contribution, or a Vehicle Drop-Off of at least 10 vehicles. Each application uses one contribution type.

Do I keep ownership of the vehicles?

Yes. Vehicles you contribute stay titled to you, and vehicles bought with your Cash Contribution are titled to you (or show your lienholder, if financed).

How is my payout calculated?

Revenue (after Turo/platform and payment fees, refunds and chargebacks) is split 50/50. Your maintenance and repair costs, at cost, and any reserve you authorized are deducted from your share. Damage-claim proceeds go to you outside the split. Payouts happen on the first of each month with a statement.

Are results guaranteed?

No. The historical ranges are the owner’s reported figures and aren’t a promise. Vehicles depreciate, costs vary, and a vehicle can earn less or nothing in a month.

Is the reserve required?

No. A reserve of up to 20% of Revenue is held only if you choose to authorize it. If you don’t, no reserve is retained.

Can I take my vehicles back?

Yes, with 30 days’ written notice, once open reservations, claims, maintenance and accounting are settled. If you’d like us to sell the vehicles for you, allow up to 90 days.

What happens after I apply?

You go straight to scheduling a phone call with Akelle. After the call we prepare your agreement from your application details. You review and sign online, we countersign, and both parties receive the final PDF.
